Stoptech wtf

so disapointed almost 7 months with my new stoptech pads and rotors and I get insane vibration when braking . My shifter and steering wheel shakes like crazy when appling the brakes at any speeds. I dont want to put stoptech back on any another option? I had powerslot before on my honda and never have any problems very happy but stoptech seem to be advertised alot here so I went with them. I spoke to stoptech and they said that their rotors dont warp dont know what to do I just want some rotors that work I dont care if they are slot or blanks this is driving me crazy.

Now I have to spend more $$ on an upgrade that I thaught I was done with. They were fine when I first got them, did the brake in process and everything was good, now this. I just had to rant I need another rotor option I checked all my bushings and they are all fine per infiniti.

Never had an issue with my StopTech rotors and never heard of anyone else having an issue either, ever. I think they would stand behind their products - have you taken it to a brake specialist and they indicated the rotor was warped? Just buy another one. If that does the trick, send the defective one to StopTech and ask for a refund. If the problem is still there, then that would indicate something else wrong... Maybe try a stock rotor if you have it lying around?

^definitely the right way to go. Mistakes do happen. Take it to a shop, get them to write up what's wrong, and then get with stoptech on the phone and order a new one. They may offer to send you one, or they may force you to pay for it until you can prove the first was defective.

Best of luck.

This can happen if new pads aren't properly bedded.

Its hard to give advice without knowing/seeing your car, but see if you can have the rotors turned down, then re-bed. A brake shop should be able to tell you 1) if your rotors can be turned (are yours cross-drilled, slotted, or plain?) and 2) if there's enough meat left on your rotors to salvage them.

Do you feel any waviness or ridges when you run your fingers along the surface of the rotor? Do you notice a pronounced lip at the outside edge of the rotor?

Can you have the pad material scrubbed off vs turning the rotor? Rotor turning usually has a min that they turn. Usually more than what pad material has deposited.

but get the rotors checked for warpage anyway

If you performed any hard stops, you could have potentially deposited a bit of the brake pad material to a spot on the rotor. I would try to bed the brakes again. Same thing happened with my centric pads and stoptech rotors.
