VDC, Slip light on

I've read a few post but none fit the exact issue going on. First I just had my steering rack replaced and now I notice that after I start driving my abs kicks in for a few seconds and then when it releases the slip and vdc off light stay on. Luckily the abs kicks in fast so I'm usually only doing about 15 to 20 mph. After that it drives fine but there is definately something wrong here. The shop is closed on the weekends so I will take it back there monday but just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. I am thinking it is some sort of sensor or code that is causing the issue but I'm not sure.

I have had this issue on a VW Jetta a few years back. I think the dealer said the CAM sensor was out of alignment, causing the ESP light (VDC in the G) to turn on.

Same issue here man.
it happened to me before, vdc, slip, and service engine light stayed on for a while, and got the cam sensor replaced last year, and it just happened to me over the weekend. (does anyone know why this happens?)
dealer said if it was the same sensor it should be covered under the 12 month part warranty but lucky me its not the same sensor, now i have to fork over $270 to get fixed, what a pain in the ***'.
good luck to you.

i also have the same problem. when i start the car, the vdc and slip lights are off, when i start moving, the lights come on. or if i just stay in one spot and move the steering wheel from left to right the lights come on. I think biochemist might be right about this one. is the RPM sensor anyhow conected to the CAM sensor? because when i drive, the rpm gauge jumps up and down instead of giong up and down smoothly. but the engine runs fine. also wheres the cam sensor located? i have a buddy with the same g, i can just swap it out to know for sure what the problem is.

Are you guys running stock wheels and tires? If you're running some crazy size tires it may be throwing off the ABS sensor.

Back of the cylinder head on both banks, right below the valve cover. The passenger side one can be reached easily, without removing anything. The driver's side one is hard to get to from the top, but I hear you can get to it from underneath, if you can put it on a lift. The part(s) are only like $53 apiece. They're different for each side.

So I swapped out the sensors and still the same thing. Are there any steering sensors? Because the lights go on when I turn the steering wheel while standing on one spot.

What size tires are you running? I know you said it still occurred on the stock rims, but what size tires were on them?

I had stock 19s 225 front and 245 rears when it happened. Now I have 20's with 245 front and back. But I doubt that the rims are the problem. My car was in an accident. I replaced control arms and did alignment two times and the lights are still on.. I think it might be something to do with steering because the car turns on with no lights on but if I turn right or left both the lights come on even if the car isn't moving. So does anyone know if there's any steering sensors? Or maybe something got bent in the accident? But the car drives and turns fine.

I started with this same problem tonight for the first time; the only difference is the BRAKE light came on, along with the VDC Off light and the SLIP light and my car cut off in the middle of the road. I was crossing a speed bump, but at a very, very slow speed as I was going over the bump. I could barely turn the wheel to get out of the road once the car turned off. I wasn't sure if it would restart and that's why I wanted to move the car into a parking spot to avoid blocking traffic. But once I started the car up again none of the lights came back on again and I drove the car home which was just around the corner. I sat in the car for a few minutes turning it on and off about three or four different times to see if the lights were going to come on again, but they didn't. I didn't attempt to turn the steering wheel to the left or right or attempt to back the car out or move it. Can anyone tell me what may have caused this. I am afraid to drive the car, afraid it may do the same thing in the middle of high traffic on the highway. KimT (2003 G35 4Dr Sedan).
