Suspension slop, car wiggles in rear side to side
So... went to get an alignment last Sunday. Toe bolt ended up getting stripped, dude put 2 thick washers on it so the nut could grab onto new thread so I could get home. Went to go to work on Monday and the car would wobble side to side when I hit bumps, I turned around and parked it all week. Just threw a new camber bolt in tonight. Took it for a ride and its still doing it!!!
Whats the issue? Only thing I can think of is the bushings in the camber arms are shot. Would that make the car wobble side to side in the rear?

Ya I googled it and founda thread on my350Z forum with a guy who had the same problem. I emailed Ichiba asking them why it failed after only a year and a half. Still havent gotten a reply

Im going to Grainger tonight to see if they have any heim joints with the correct size thread so I can put those in instead of sh;tty bushings again.
Cant even drive my damn car right now..... im p'ssed Anything over 40 mph got all squirly last night when I took it for a drive.

Had the same problem when I lowered w bc coils and did not drill the toe bolt slot out enough. Finally drilled it out on my ras and seems to be fine. It was scary as he'll for a while. There are a couple other threads about this but nobody has found a definitive answer. My situation might just be a temp fix as far as I know even though I hope to he'll it's not. I would just make sure toe bolt is drilled out enough and get an alignemt so both are 100% in spec. If you already did this then I have no other advice.

This definitely sounds like a bushing issue but it might be worth it to check the hub-nut. Mine worked it's way loose last year and had the exact same symptoms as you describe. Quick way to check is jack up the wheel in question and with your wheel/lug nuts still tightened, try and wiggle the whole wheel. There shouldn't be any play but if there is, then there is your problemo.

hey guys ...dont post on here much ..just use the search function which usually does the trick but i have to chime in here since nobody has mentioned the rear axle nut!!
tighten it and crimp it again ...on our cars the treaded part of the axle is unusually long and the crimped nut sits a ways into it so doesnt function like most cars ie. crimps at the end of the thread into a notch in axle
none the less sometimes these can loosen or in not re-installed properly be loose ...in which case the rear end gets alot of slopp and scared the **** out of me on an off ramp a cpl days after taking apart the rear end.
easy fix just tighten and try it ...deff worth a try!! ...n with that my ranting is over
