BC Racing rear suspension question

A shop installed my set and I noticed yesterday that the coil is upside down as compared to the pics ive seen here. The fat part is on the top and the gold lock collars are on the bottom. Also if i disconnect the shock and let the rear suspension hang freely the shock is about 1.5 inches short and I have to jack up the arm in order to get it to reach. Does this sound right???

First part, by what you describe no it's wrong.

Second part sounds like they were trying to set the droop, you should have to jack up the spring cup to get the strut to align with the hole. But, usually it shouldn't be 1.5" I believe.

edit: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...r-install.html follow that

Who knows. The perch part is supposed to be on top, and isn't designed to take the impact the way it would on the bottom. This could be no big deal, or it may cause it to break eventually. As far as the pre-load being off, your ride could be setup much more efficiently and would be more beneficial to you.

Take it back into the shop and show them how it should be done, they should fix it since they made the mistake...
