Which BBK Upgrade?

I have a 2003 G35 Sedan w/64k mi. I upgraded my front brakes after 37k w/ AP Racing 13" 1 pc rotor and 4 piston calipers. I need to replace my rears. AP Racing does not have a matching rear kit that's reasonably priced. Should I replace the rears with the 13"Akebono/Infiniti BBK? Or try to sell the my front APs and go with all matching sets? I don't know if that's a downgrade for the fronts. Here is one of the vendors bbks.

if you are concerned about matching them, you can purchase the rear kit and then have both front and rear calipers repainted to match them both in color. that would probably be cheaper than selling your kit and buying a new front and rear kit.

tough call man... i really like ur AP's thought, so i would say IF you can find a close rotor match, to just repaint some OEM Brembo's or Ake's and keep the AP's.

That would be more cost effective to keep the fronts. I hope finding replacement pads and turning the rotors are not a pita. The AP calipers' yellow logo is embossed. Maybe I could have the rear calipers in black on a new rear bbk. I'm just too freakin' picky I guess. Thanks for your input guys.

^if he does that, he might as well just get a matching rear AP kit. pretty sure he was deciding on; keep AP and do new rears OR sell APs and buy a cheaper kit(Akebonos) all around.

AP only has a 2 pc rear kit for about 2k$. For that price I could get a f/r Akebono/Infiniti kit. Or I could just do the rears, or just replace the oem rears with a drilled/slotted rotor and new pads, but they are only 11.75" rotors. I probably should not have bought the AP kit years ago, but was talked into them and now Stillen who makes APs have them so highly marked up other bbks are more affordable.

Thanks Mark, but I think I'm gonna do some research on my options. Although I appreciate your input. I just realized the Akebono rear kit has a 13.75" rotor, not 13". That doesn't match my front.

it's going to be tough to match the calipers. racingbrake and fastbrakes give you options for rear stuff.

^ I checked into those bbk, but I'm not too happy about what's out there. I'm thinkin' of sending out a feeler to see if there is anyone interested in buying my AP kit.

I personally wouldn't downgrade from AP to akebono, but that is just me.

That is what i was thinking. The AP's are one of the best in the business. I've never had any issues with them, other than they are damn expensive.
