hey guys just dropped my car off at a shop to get wheel bearings replaced and the axel boot was leaking grese (i think) so the shop guy told me i need a new set of beerings two hubs new driver side axel. i have a third party warranty so they say they will cover the berings and axel not the hub so i said well change the covered parts and re-use the hub. Good so far, but then we took of the knuckle and he tells me the balljoints are bad and need to be replaced (hand holding head...WHAT!!!) i say well how much is it he say the warranty will cover it but they need to see it and will send an inspector to take pics on tuesday leaving me without a car for christmas weekend but i said all that to ask this what are the dangers of running the car with bad balljoints and how can i tell if they are really bad and he is not just trying to get warranty money??? if it helps i have a 2004 G35X sedan with 70K miles and stock everything.
