Do i have to change pads when replacing rotors?
#4
I'm gonna let the others here make a recomendation for that. I have an 05' and I LOVE my stock pads. They grip in the wet and don't dust. I do know that 04' and older had a problem with the stock pads dusting very bad. I had the hawk hps also, when it was warm and dry, there was nothing better. But when it was cold and wet, it was like no brakes at all for a second or two. I got rid of them fast.

it's not required, but it's best to. During bed in processes, you're actually transferring slight amounts of pad material to the rotors, and both the pads and rotors will slightly re-shape to each other. This is the normal physics of breaks. Once the old rotors are taken off, the pad surface of the old pads is now smoothed or glazed to match the old rotors, and may not transfer material to the new rotors as well as they would if the pads were new.
