I own an '03 coupe 6MT. Recently, my ABS, Slip and VDC lights came on. I thought it was due to low fluid/low brake pads and I filled the reservoir and ordered new pads. Sure, the pads needed changing but the lights did not go off after filling with fluid and changing the pads.

I suspected the ABS might not be working properly and the other day I confirmed it as I had to do an emergency braking and the the brakes locked up. There is also a strange symptom; when I turn the car on, I hear a loud clunking noise from the front of the car and the brake pedal goes down a bit as if something adjusted itself.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I fear something major might've need replacement.

 

I have an 04 coupe installed my coilovers and camber front and rear also got an alignment. Everything was fine my car was to low so decided to raise it a lil. Than hello funny braking started to happen I looked on fourms and filled the fluid up no lights on dash but still funny noise from abs box and bad braking at low speeds so im getting realigned right now to see what it does. I do need new rear pads so gonna do that next ill update

 

update on my g i snooped around the front wheel hub and took out the sensors and cleaned then with a rag . where the sensor sat i took the rag and stuck it in with my finger and spun the wheel until i think its clean. drove it around and back to normal. hope that will help you so you dont spend too much money for such an easy fix
