I put in a fuse for HICAS.

So I put the fuse in, and I don't know if the system will work or not. I tried turning the steering wheel with the car still and I didn't see the wheels turning. Anyone know how I can tell if it's working or not?

P.S.: For the people who are not understanding my question, I just want to know how I can test if I have HICAS or not, like how these guys below did it in "diagnostic mode" on a 300ZX.

It wont work because there's nothing to steer the rear wheels.

Man, that's disappointing. Why would it have a socket for a fuse though, labelled HICAS?

I hope you're wrong bro. I don't understand why they would have the feature for a sedan and not a coupe.

that is not what I meant. They use the same fuse block for all platforms regardless of options and configuration. They have different wiring harnesses which means you may or may not have wires coming out of the fuse block for certain options but they aren't going to mold different blocks for every option and model configuration. And yes active rear steering was an option on some coupes, but its not standard and putting a fuse in isn't going to magically enable it on a vehicle that doesn't have the hardware for rear steering. Just like awd was an option on some sedans but putting a fuse isn't going to make your car awd.

you honestly thought gaining HICAS was as simple as getting a 50 cent fuse and plugging it in?

why would Nissan do something like that?

(Sigh.) I asked a simple question but I got three *** answers. The initial question was how I can check if I had it. No one answered that, but everyone tries to be a smart ***.

I don't believe in magic either smart *** number one. Smart *** number two, you're just stupid bro; who would "honestly" think like that man. Like, did you "honestly" think that I would "honestly" think that just by buying and installing a fuse that I would "honestly" have HICAS? Like "honestly" bro? "Honestly" bro ...

I may have to rephrase my original post; I'm drawing the wrong crowd.

First I didn't give you a d!ck answer. It was an honest answer. Here comes the d!ck answer:

btw, why are you putting honestly in quotes? He used it legitimately. And it is pretty apparent that you honestly did believe installing a fuse would make it work because you probably thought it was a standard feature. That alone would be fine with me, HOWEVER you act like you didn't have a mistaken assumption and try to make it seem like you know more than you did. Its fine if you didn't know that, but to sit there and act like that isn't what you meant is comical.

Second, you asked how can you tell if it is working which implies you think it comes standard. Its a pretty rare option here in north america. If you didn't know that, then fine just admit that. It would have been no big deal.

I also answered this for you. Since you believed having a socket for it implies that you would have that system.

Now the easiest way of finding out if you have the system is to take a look under the back of the car. Do you see a rear steering rack behind the rear diff similar to this?

This is from a 240 but its similar.

No? Moving on then:
Finally, I know your next question is going to be how hard is it to add it? Its hardly worth it since you don't have any of the electronics, programming, and wiring to run it.

UCIMAplaya2, thank you for the information you presented. You demonstrated an annoying and prickly part of your personality, and that wasn't appreciated at all, but I'm going to ignore that and the rest of the **** you stated about my supposed ignorance because you answered my question. That picture was an excellent help and I'm going to check for that the next time my car goes up. It would have been nice if you just posted that picture and told me to look for it, instead of the other crap you said, but .

Thanks again, and hopefully we can end our conversation here.
