How quickly should G/Z coilovers rebound?
COILOVERS: 2003+ 350z Tein Flex
I recently bought a set of TEIN FLEX coilovers from Kijiji for what I thought was a bargain price...but now I'm not so sure. The seller had just purchased a new to him 2003 G35 and took the springs off because he supposedly "doesn't like" lowered cars and went back to stock suspension. I know that probably sounds like BS - but he didn't seem like the tuner type.
Anyways, when I bought the kit it was dark and cold outside so I wasn't able to look and inspect them as much as I had hoped. I just checked to make sure that the dampening ***** worked and that the damper would compress and rebound freely.
My question is; how quickly should the rod rebound after being compressed? I've tested all four coilovers and they all seem to rebound at +/- the same speed...but overall it looks slow. My G is sleeping until April/May and so the coilovers are not yet installed. The coilovers are 16 way dampening and set at 8. I would say that it takes about 3 seconds for the rod to rebound out about 1'' after having been compressed. I weigh about 200 lbs and it takes a fair amount of force to compress the dampers.
Is this normal?
Thanks in advance for all responses. I will try to take and upload a video when I have a moment...but my phone's been acting up lately and quality will probably be terrible.
