Group Buy: GTspec Fender Reinforcement Brace
yes, it goes in that hole.. you are basically crushing the threaded piece in there by using an impact driver.
so first you will put down the flat washer that has a seat in it for the threaded piece that goes in to the hole, then you thread in the screw, then put the "spacer" on, then the washer, and finally the nut.. put a wrench on the "spacer" and then take you impact and I think its a 19mm and just crank on it (forward motion)
you have to do this carefully, if you don't keep pressure on it, it will start spinning which is what you absolutely don't want to happen. if it starts spinning you will need to find a way to rip it out and use the spare they gave you.

sooooo is anyones holes on the frame bigger than the threaded piece? I should have taken pictures but I was frustrated with some other projects and put everything back together.

I don't really understand. Are you saying the holes have a smaller diameter than the threaded inserts? It wouldn't really surprise me if we have to drill out the holes to match the insert size, but I didn't get a change to install last weekend to know if its needed.

^^Boog Reverse that. The holes on the fender frame of my car are a larger diameter that the insert parts. I try to "crush" one in but it has room to jiggle about. It has nothing to grab onto.
Maybe I misunderstood Sexyrob's instructions.
I will get measurements this weekend.
easy analogy- the insert has the diameter of a penny, but my frame hole has the diameter of a nickel.

I havent started to install these yet, but why do we need to use the hardware supplied with the braces? Is it possible to just use a bolt, washer, and nut?
that is weird...
please let us know a few things about your car

could anyone have touched your car before you? for example, I had done a wiretuck and used the holes to run wires through, is it possible someone else did this on yours and maybe reamed the holes out some?
