squeaky suspension...

So last night I was driving down a cobblestone road and and this incredibly annoying noise started. and now I can hear it when I go over any bumps!! its a high pitched squeak; sounds like mice under my car!!

So I've read thats caused by either the swaybar links or the sway bar bushings. I plan on ordering both for both front sides (OEM) is there anything else I should order while i'm at it? Are there any other parts that would make that noise?

BTW... Its an 06 coupe 6MT.

Thanks!!!

I have the same problem. I was thinking it was my coilovers but honestly I have no idea. I might have to order sway links and bushings as well.

Before buying parts that may or may not fix the problem, just remove both sway bars and see if the noise stops. It won't hurt anything to remove the bars. There will be more body roll and if you corner hard you could hit the bump stops. I wouldn't recommend only taking one bar off as that could cause severe over or understeer.

Also, aftermarket sway bar bushings are more likely to make noise than stock. You could just clean and lube the stock bushings. Whiteline makes a good grease and here are two other options:

For rubber or poly, you want a non-petroleum based grease.

I also read some threads where some of the members spray the bushings down with pb blaster, and that helps for a bit.

Pb Blaster is petroleum based, so it can damage rubber.

Good to know...

I just realized today that the squeaks have stopped. There are only 2 factors that have changed. Weather is warmer and there was a lot of rain yesterday. With that being said, I'm leaning more towards the sway bar bushings (figure they expand a little in the warmer weather and driving in the rain may have helped a little).
