VDC & Slip (I know this has probably been covered but, a unique issue)

Past few days, the VDC & Slip lights have illuminated on my dash, when rolling off from a stop light. Not launching or pushing the car. Did some research, could be a brake sensor, cam sensor, or something as simple as low brake fluid. However, today I'm doing roughly 20mph, and the Slip engages almost throwing the car to a complete stop in the middle of the road. It stops, and I continue on my way back to work. I'm about a block away from my work on a 35mph street, and it engages again, almost locking the rear brakes and throwing the car near sideways... Has anyone experienced this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

-Jared

Check the rear two vdc sensors on the differential for any mud/obstructions or damage, also until you've solved the problem either pull the abs/vdc fuse, or disable just the vdc system by pulling the plug wire from the vdc system (doing this will let you figure out if its an abs module problem or vdc), it is located under your shifter console cover.

Yes, I've installed new wheels & tires (not far from oe spec), and I''ve already been driving with the yaw sensor disconnected (put a toggle on it as soon as I purchased the car). We scanned with the Snap-On brick, and noticed all tires pressures read 0, meaning there are no wheel sensors installed. I assume this is the problem since the system is reading 0 tire pressure and it all coordinates etween vehicle speed, pressure, etc.. I will check the VDC sensors for good measures. For now, seems equipping all wheels with new sensors should solve the issue.

I appreciate your input.

Yes, we scanned with the Snap-On brick. C1145, Yaw Sensor circuit error, C1146 Lateral G sensor circuit error. Leading to believe the 0 pressure reading is causing this, confusing the system. Only happened after I installed the new wheels.

I'll post results after sensors are installed in case anyone else runs into this issue after upgrading wheels when using the "drift button" mod.

Mine did this for a while, and found out that it was a couple things that all happened at the same time...

1. brake pads are nearly bald
2. because brake pads have been used for a while even when they were bald, brake fluid went down
3. all of a sudden, got a hole in one of my tires

Went to plug the hole, but then the VDC and SLIP still came up.

Topped the brake fluids and those VDC and SLIP warnings never appeared again.
Going to be replacing the brake pads ASAP.

My pads are brand new, rotors are a different story. While everything is off, new rotors, pads, SS lines, fluids, all 4 wheel sensors, cleaning sensors on diff and installing Nismo fin. Might as well right?

Did this start right after installing new wheels and tires? What size are your tires? OE is a staggered set up, and I've read that if the new tires aren't staggered enough/too much it throws off the VDC.

Tire pressure monitoring shouldn't be causing this, but I've had the light come on when the tire pressure wasn't even.

Trouble shooting for the codes you posted above start on page 41 here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Coup..._Coupe/brc.pdf

OE is not a staggered set up... It is 2005 sport sedan which, are 18x7.5" square setup. Running the same size tires, just a series shorter.

I have put my factory 18's back on until sensors are installed on the new wheels and have not experienced the issue.

TPMS will never cause this issue. Sorry man, but ive been running my car with no tire sensors (aka 0psi) for years.

Oh. Sedan. This kind of info should be put into every help needed thread since there are differences. Same size tires on a coupe would cause some of the issues you described since they are staggered.

Double check the tire pressure on the new wheels. Rule out the simple stuff. Then try the VDC trouble shooting in FSM link I sent.

Going to run through the .PDF troubleshooting suggestions this weekend. Although, since replacing the aftermarket with stock wheels... I have not experienced one issue.
