Rubbing noise, and now scraping sound at low speeds
Hey all,
Let me preface this by saying that I've been having a "rubbing" issue that makes a noise seemingly coinciding with a single revolution of my wheels. It would sometimes cause my car to vibrate pretty bad at highway speeds for a mile or two... and then the ride would gradually smooth out and the noise would go down some. My dealer told me this was tire cupping when i had it checked out a few months ago, and based on forum discussions that seemed reasonable, so it might be unrelated to the second issue...
My second issue (the serious one): A couple days ago my car started making a scraping sound at low speeds (mostly 5-15mph). Its a hissing/grind-like scrape noise and seems to be coming from my rear-passenger wheel area. I cant see anything that looks like its touching something it shouldnt be that might cause a noise when I look in the wheel well. It keeps the car from moving forward at idle like it normally does, so its definitely adding a little resistance somehow, though it doesnt noticeably affect the drive. It has also made a squealing noise occasionally. However, at higher speeds, particularly 50+, theres no extra noise at all, it goes away. my first thought was a bearing issue, but a bearing issue wouldnt go away with increase in speed, would it? My car has 89000 miles on it.
Anyway, I dont have any idea what's going on here and sure would appreciate some insight!

Hey thanks for the response!
I actually just replaced the pads in the last few months, so they should be fine, though if its a caliper issue keeping pressure on the rotor I guess all bets are off (if that ever happens?). didnt notice any odd wear when i changed the pads.

So.. turns out my rear passenger caliper was failing to let off and it straight up wore my pads to the bone. So... problem solved...ish. Just figured id post in case anyone comes by the thread later
