ISC SUSPENSION N1 COILOVER Questions

Has anyone ever tried these and like/dislike them? I have an 03 coupe 6mt with sport suspension with the dampening turned all the way to soft will the ride quality and handling go down compared to stock? How are these compared to BC racing BR's?

I'm willing to bet that these are pretty similar to other, comparably priced coilovers.

What are your goals with the suspension?

My goals are 1-1.25 inch drop in the front and .5-.75 drop in the rear. This is my daily drive and I don't want the ride to be too harsh(or worse than stock) but maybe a slight improvement in handling

If that is the case, why not just look into a good set of springs and shocks?

Isn't it going to be the same amount of money to get springs and shocks that are decent without being able to fine tune the ride height? also if I coilovers are they destined to fail knocking pinging etc

Get coils for the adjustability, you'll regret it if you don't.

I think I'm going to get HSD coilovers, does anyone know their minimum height in the rear I dont want lower than 1inch. Also if I dont track the car will they be problem free or do coilovers always have problems eventually

You can get coilovers for the cost of a good spring/shock combo, but I'm assuming you want the ride quality to be on par if not better than stock, and to not degrade the handling. Having adjustability is very nice but if you don't plan on adjusting your suspension much, coilovers might be a bit much. A well valved spring/shock combo will perform well and ride well.

That being said, I've heard pretty positive things about HSD.

Is the ride quality that terrible with coilovers no matter what even with the dampening and preload on a soft setting

That's completely dependent on the valving of the shocks, the spring rates, even the manufacturer of the springs, etc.

One of the biggest factors is your interpretation of what is stiff vs. what is not.

Not with all coils. I have the Tanabe Pro5s and on the softer side the ride quality is excellent, that's why I bought them.

well I ended up going with HSD's which I believe the spring rates tend to be on the softer side, I just want the ride quality similar to the OEM sport suspension ride with maybe a slight increase in handling
