replacement sway bars: bushing/end link consensus
replacement sway bars: bushing/end link consensus
Hello all,
I''ll be replacing my stock sway bars soon with aftermarket ones. Just want to know the consensus on which bar bushings/endlinks people have chosen. From all the research I have done on here I have learned that poly is stronger (but not by much), lasts longer and can be noiser than OE.
I live in FL. It's warm and humid most of the year. For those that run them in the south, will poly bushings make as much noise as those who run them in northern climates? How often will they need to be lubed? I don't track my car and since the stock bushings have about 80k on them, don't require lube and are quiet, I am leaning towards OE
Also, I am lowered on unrevised Z/G coupe front and rear respectively. I know most recommned adjustable end links but since the end links were revised for 05+ cars and I am only moderately dropped, I think I can get away with OE end links as well.
Anyone in favor, opposed or any advice is welcomed. Thanks guys!

I've got Hotchkiss sway bars and SPL end links front and rear. Good setup, imo. I've had them for about 6 months and have been happy with them so far. That's no long enough to have noticed any noise issues or have to deal with lube but I have no complaints at the moment. Well made stuff and easy installation, can't think of anything bad to say about them. I live in NC so we get some humidity (thank god not as much as FL) but I haven't had any issues. A lot of guys have had the same / similar setups for years, hopefully one of them will chime in with a more long term review for you.
Good luck in any case. With a minor drop you'll be fine with the OEM end links, but it's ALWAYS nice to have the option of adjustability, imo. Never know if/when it'll come in handy.

I'm in Texas and have Motodyne sways with stock bushings and SPL end links. If I was doing it over, I'd try something besides SPL end links. They are noisy, but at least you can only hear them at lower speeds. I also have poly compression rod bushings and will probably go back to stock due to the noise.
That confirms my fears. Since you are in a warmer climate like me I will be surely afftected with noise. Stock bushings/end links sounds like the quieter route. If it helps you any, the revised OE compression rod bushings installed in my car a couple of years ago are dead quiet. Thanks!
I've been running stock bushings and end links on my '04 with Stillen sways for 5+ years with no problems. I have a set of poly bushings but have never felt the need to put them on.
