Issues with ABS Control Module, Dealership & Warranty Co
Hey Guys, any help/advice on this issue would be much appreciated.
A little over a month ago I was on my way to work in my 2006 g35 and noticed the abs, slip and vdc lights were on, as well as a strange noise coming from under the hood. I pulled over and turned off the car, but noticed the noise didnt stop. I then drove he vehicle to the infiniti dealership where they informed me that the abs sensor and control module needed to be replaced.
I had purchased a warranty from a company called continental warranty back in 2010 when I got the car from a used car dealer . I showed the infiniti dealership the warranty and they pointed out that the ABS module was covered, but not the sensor. I was fine with that since they told me with work and labor the ABS module would be just under $2,000 to fix and the sensor just over $200. So they called to warranty co to file the claim and the warranty co said that they didnt have my warranty on record. So this led to over a month of going back and forth with the used car dealership and the warranty co about what happened to the $2500 warranty I had purchased. After about 5 weeks of calling both of them daily for updates, the warranty co finally told me they were going to honor my warranty and I could file the claim.
So I had been driving the car around with the ABS sensor unplugged the entire time. I dropped off the car at the infiniti dealer Monday morning. I waited for 4 days until warranty co finally sent someone out to inspect the car. Now I hear back from the warranty co that the claim is being denied.
Their telling me that the problem is the ABS sensor and that if the sensor is replaced the ABS pump will work, but "just make a little noise." The guy also told me if the pump didn't work it would not have been covered anyway since the cause of the problem appears to be the sensor which is not covered and if something not covered causes the problem then they wont cover anything. He suggested I just get the sensor replaced and if the pump still works, maybe if it goes bad shortly after, the fact that it worked for a little with a new pump might be enough proof that the sensor didnt cause the pump to go bad.
The dealership is telling me there's a reasonable chance the pump will go bad if the sensor is replaced and he's never heard of a warranty co denying something like this. He suggested I find a lawyer and try and get my $2500 back from the warranty co and purchase a warranty from infiniti that will cover everything.
I feel like I might be getting jerked around by both parties here. My knowledge of cars is very limited and would really appreciate any advice.
Also, I am capable of changing my own oil and flushing the coolant system myself. But that is about the extent of my work on cars. Would it be that complicated if I purchased a used pump online and tried to install it myself?
Sorry for any typos... rushing at work.

WOW......
What does the noise sound like?
I would replace the sensors first, they are way easy to access. Ebay has them I think $80-$100each. Never really heard of the abs pump going out, but anything can go out.
