Coupe exhaust repair options. Weld vs U-Clamp Vs Walker aftermarket

hey guys I wanted to post this in the sedan forum also since I know some of you go with the Walker aftermarket quiet flow option to get some coupe like noise and sometimes I think I really just belong here. My 95k exhaust is leaking right where the muffler attaches to the midpipe. Its all rusted out where the gaskets are. This seems to be a common issue with the g exhaust. Sucks because other than these flanges the rest seems to have been built like a f'n tank. Anyways my options are:

1) Replace both mid pipe and muffler with the walker aftermarket for $190 delivered and than another 100 or so in labor. probably total $350.

2) 2nd option is a $125 weld at meineke they can cut off both flanges where both pipes meet and weld on a straight pipe mating the mid pipe and muffler into 1 unit. Leaning towards this option as i get to retain the oem sound. even tho i got 95k on the exhaust the rest of the piping seems strong. I also heard the walker quiet flow sounds like a grandma exhaust and not like the oem.

3) My last option would be a $15 pipe and 2 U clamps from Napa auto and just doing it myself bolting the hell out of the clamps. Than re-tightening after a week or so after it is settled in with the heat changes and stuff. Is this a fake fix? will it leak? any thoughts appreciated. thanks.

To spread rumors, I've heard poor comments about the walker brand and would recommend you checking to quality of work. there's a reason it's cheap. A while back I found that brand online and was considering them, but later decided I would prefer to go with a 'better' name brand like magnaflow.

4) Buy a used coupe/sedan mid pipe and sedan muffler in good condition. Install yourself with some paint to cover the joint to protect against rust. All exhaust is going to rust unless you buy aftermarket stainless steel, even your Meineke weld job will rust in a year

Just went with the extraction and weld at Meineke. Charged me $85. Instantly my coupe sounded like a champ again. They warranted it for 1 year so we will see what happens, but hopefully it lasts more than that.
