Ball joint and bushings question (am i going crazy?)

hi My 05 sedan is approching 100k miles and my last inspection the mechanic showed me my front lower ball joint bushing or boots have a crack in them and said they are no good (tho my car does not feel like or hear any issues) and i must change the lower control arms and knuckle to fix them because infiniti just do sell the ball joint or bushings and i have to get them from infiniti. in all he wanted to charge me over 2000 dollors to fix and said he has to rip old inspection off by law

now i knew i was not giving this guy 2000 dollors so i gave him a diry look he faild my inspection and i did my research and i found ball joints and bushings and went to a different mechanic and he says there worn but ok for now but start saving money for them because there important pieces to fail and is always a smart buy and passed the car inspection
but now i want to but all the bushings and lower ball joints and bring it to mechanic 2 for his honesty and understanding.
i see a polyurethane set of bushings i want to get but i dont find polyurethane ball joints
i see some really generic looking round rubber balljoint that look alittle cheap
and ones with the more the original boot look like 20 bux more tho im sure its rubber too

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-INFINITI...2d178d&vxp=mtr

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Infiniti-G35...2915dc&vxp=mtr

does anyone know if there are polyurethane ball joints or am i over thinking and being a ***** and the generic ones are fine and both those joints are the same just different look lol

Both of those are the same I just bought a pair but haven't gotten around to installing them yet. Whiteline bushings are what you need. $50 a pair IIRC

Might be better to ask this question in the V35 (1st gen) sedan section.

If your bushings are bad then yes most likely. Swaybars are also a good mod to improve handling

They can, but so can stiffer sways, alignment, and multiple aspects of your tires (tread compound and design, fitment, air pressure, etc.).
