I hear it causes your oem shocks to wear early. I'm at 105,000 miles (most likely all on the oem shocks from the factory). Should I just buy new shocks and install them with the springs? How long could I go without new shocks?

You might as well buy coilovers... Everyone says you'll regret getting springs, but I didn't listen and ended up getting a set and eventually new shocks (oem blew out after less than 500 miles). The only good thing about it is I only paid $80 for the springs, brand new.
But if you're still set on buying springs, get the shocks at the same time so you can install it all together.

I could get coilovers but really theres no point for me. I'm not gonna be going super low because its my DD and I live in the midwest with moderate winters.
And if I do ever want coilovers I'll just sell my springs no big deal.
How many miles were on your oem struts when you put springs on them if they blew out that fast? I want to find some used ones with real low miles I guess.

If you get coilovers you can always adjust the ride height. Lower in the summer and higher in the winter. They leave room for play compared to springs where you're stuck at one height.
My oem struts had 75k miles on them, although my springs brought me down almost 2" which is more than the h-techs will. Your struts might last 20k miles or they might last 100 miles, no one can really say how long since its different for everyone.
If your dead set on springs though I would suggest some tokico hp blues rather than oem, check the marketplace for a used set.

That is funny that's exactly what I was actually looking for after doing some research. how much do they usually go for used? I want some ones with super low miles so I'll be good for a while. Also how do you know when your shocks are blown? Just ride quality goes to hell?

You should be able to find a low mileage used set for around $200, you just have to wait for a set to come up. Or you can get them brand new for like $330.
There multiple ways to tell your shocks are blown. The ride quality gets worse, fluid leaks from the shocks, etc... You can also check by pushing down on the car and seeing if it rebounds, if it doesn't your shocks are blown.

Low mileage springs don't matter... some brands even offer million mile warranties because the standard knowledge is that springs will greatly outlast any car's live
