what type of noise was it? was it a clunk when coming to a break with the end links loose?

for me, if i jam the breaks at slower speeds, i get a clunk. then when i release the breaks i get a slightly quiter clunk..
i just looked at my spl end links and realized that they are horribly installed (my bad). i used the cone spacer and i think i should go remove that and use only the ring spacer so its more vertical. cause right now its like \ when it should be | . im wondering if thats whats making the noise...

Mark, I had the same noise on just the right side. It ended up being the lower control arm bushing, not the endlink.

Hmm. Have you tried removing your end links and driving around?

not yet. my next two tests that il do this weekend are gonna be taking off the aluminum undertray (who knows). and trying to connect my endlinks properly. with the cone spacer it puts them on a horrible angle. i think this may be the cause or at least bad for them.

I know the noise I have left is the SPL endlink on the right side. On the alignment rack you pull down on the suspension and the damn thing pops. I need to make an appointment at Precision Z to get alignment and the Power Grid endlinks installed. According to the instructions your car must be sitting flat to install, alignment rack w/b perfect.

Took SLICK to my alignment shop this AM early PowerGrid front endlinks installed. ($30=) Driving home she's super quiet, went into the worst driveways, speed bumps I could find and not a sound from my suspension.
Taking off the SPL endlinks and noticed one of the sleeves was missing due to losing the nut before my last oil change. They would never stay tight and the result was losing the nut/sleeve and failure! Have a set of PowerGrids coming next week for the back sway bar.
Without an alignment rack I'd find a shop that has a "Drive on Lift" where your car will sit flat.

Raising the front end would totally alter how your frontend sits, that's why I suggested a drive on ramp like most muffler shops have. Read the install instructions on your links suspension must be sitting normally....Gary

Went to Precision Z this AM for an alignment, found the rears off by 2 degrees, now that's corrected and yet my rear tires wear flat. The front had one issue in the red which was corrected, now I'll feel better about buying new Michelins for the front before winter.
Still no noise from the suspension which will only get better when I get the rear PowerGrid endlinks installed next Monday!

Hey Gary, I installed those SPL compression rod bushing into brand new arms from Autozone. I don't have added noise and my steering feels a ton better. Could it mean your compression rod has a bad ball joint?

Every thing is quiet now. I did get an email from SPL and he admitted some of the parts on my endlinks we're not the best material and why they kept coming loose. Will I receive any compensation? What are the odds?
