Opinion - What color Caliper To Go With?

So im looking for your opinions as Im having a hard time making a decision. Id like to clean up my factory calipers a bit soon & paint them a color. I just got new wheels and now what is grabbing my attention is how filthy my factory calipers are. Im debating between the following....

Note: These are really the only colors im considering as I want something clean and simple but im open to ideas. If i go gold I may grab some matching lugs down the road. For the paint being used ill be going with a g2 kit, they are simple, easy and its held up for 5+ years on my other car with 0 issues.

-silver
-black
-gold

I would do black. No reason to draw attention to factory calipers. If it were a BBK, then that would be different.

Silver or black, any other color screams rice.

Just grab a BBK! It is -900 if used and you can get it powdercoated any color you like.

Im sure its a nice upgrade but I feel upgrading the brakes is a bit unnecessary unless the vehicle in question has a substantial amount of power adders or FI. Ill stick with the stock setup for now

Thanks, im sure I would like the gold but it would probably be temporary and in the end I would probably get tired of it. I think im going to go with silver, its low key but should look super clean behind the wheels. Thanks fellas

Silver will look very nice. Just paint it with high temp auto paint after a nice sanding/grinding with a wire wheel and apply a high temp clear coat. Works just fine and is cheap.

Thanks!

Yea I will most likely be using the G2 caliper kit. That stuff is awesome to work with & the finish is great. I did a set of rotors 5+ years ago in gloss black for my other car & they are still super glossy and smooth. Its probably a few more bucks then standard spray paint but its much easier/cleaner to apply and it gets rock hard like powdercoat after its cured with a very smooth and glossy finish. Ill throw up pics when im done, should be next weekend.

Thanks fellas!

i would go with nothing. the factory setup has godawful issues with overheating as it is, why add another insulative layer?

Is that a known thing or random one off for particular people? I have personally never had any issues with the factory brakes for normal situations. Obviously for a auto x environment or heavy breaking on a high mph highway pull I could see brake fade becoming an issue but even spirited driving has never resulted in brake fade for me on this car to date. Considering her fat *** even after some fun spirited driving she still seems to stop just fine

This has been discussed many times and most of you still get it wrong!

Tim is 100% correct, either black or silver! You have a great looking coupe with beautiful wheels, where do you want the focus to be when someone sees your car? Not on some funky colored calipers!

It's a theoretical concept. Yes, there is a little scientific basis for it. Adding a coating may affect the thermal coefficient...but in all honesty you'd prob never notice. Usually the overheating issue on street cars isn't the caliper..it's the rotor. Choosing swiss-cheesed rotors would have a more significant impact vs painting calipers.

Painting is better than powdercoating at least, and if it was a huge issue many OEM's wouldnt paint calipers.

I've autoXed with painted calipers/rotors before. Worst that happens is you cook the paint off. You really gotta get the brakes smoking for that however.

I vote silver or black btw
