Hey guys I'm in need of some new brakes all around. My current rotors are rusted and look horrible. I'm getting new wheels soon and want some nice looking brakes behind them. I'm looking at spending no more then $1000 on all 4. I don't go to the track but you could say I'm somewhat aggressive on the road, I like to push it sometimes just like all of us. What do you guys recommend? I've been looking around and they all seem to be at least 2k. Is it even possible for my budget? I don't need some super high end brakes just some good ones for daily driving that also look good. Any input would help, thanks guys!

Wut? Clean up your rotor hats with a wire brush and then coat them in a high temperature paint. You don't need to replace them just because of a look issue.

Any other calipers I can get bro? The ones now are small and don't look that great either.

THIS is one of those things you may not cheap out on. Big Brake kits are a waste of money if you don't see a track.

I see your point on that. Ok I guess I'll just get the rust removed, paint the calipers black and get new pads? What are some good pads? I've been seeing lots on here that people like hawk etc..

Hawk is really grippy. If you want an upgrade, upgrade your lines and rotors to something better looking and you won't break the bank either.

For less than 1k you can get new rotors that are slotted and/or drilled, new pads and lines and have money left over. It'll perform at least as well as brand new stock and look way better unless your wheels are huge.

I vote you look around and try to find a set of OEM Brembos with rotors used. You should be able to find a set in good condition and they'll bolt right on. That way you get the quality of good breaks and they look great as well.

I agree. Waste of money unless you frequent the track or have a show car. There are Z's that frequent the Nurburgring who are on stock OEM Brembo and Non-Brembo brakes that do just fine with upgraded pads and fluid. My OEM brakes did just fine on the 'ring.

If you look around, you can find OEM Brembo's and sell you stock set-up to keep it under $1k.

Ive been looking for oem but cant seem to find anything online or locally (im in Vancouver, Canada). Also are all the oem calipers orange, i was looking for red.

BBKs are a huge waste of money. If you just want looks, buy a used set of Akebonos.
