Recommended rotors and pads?

*disclaimer!* Yes, I've searched the threads! *end disclaimer!*

I was curious as to peoples opinions now that they've had some miles on their pads/rotors. I'm finally out of my 3yr 36k free brakes/rotors phase. For now, I plan to get Satisfied Pro ceramics (front and rear) and possibly cyro-treated rotors (for the fun of it. . .lol). Does anyone recommend Hawk HPS Street pads (non-ceramic) over the SFPros? Has anyone with ceramics had any horrible rotor wear? If I do change my mind and go with the HPS street pads, will they wear out as fast as the stock pads, given conservative daily driving? Another possibility is EBC greenstuffs, any tho'ts on these? I guess, what I'm looking for is pads that are equivalent to the stock ones as far as braking, with less dust, and possibly longer lasting. I don't track my car but like an occaisional "agressive drive." However, if I get pads that are as good but will just demolish the stock rotors, then I'll want to get rotors too. (No big brake kits. . .since I don't want to be spendin' grands!) Lastly, what is the deal with the ABS being messed up by switch rear rotors? Is this BS? I have a 5AT, so no brembos here. Thanks for any input in advance! And thanks for enduring my rambling question! lol Peace y'all!

Does anyone know what brand rotors and pads these are? Has anyone bought them or bought from this place? All around pads and rotors for $650 doesn't sound too bad. . .

thx for any help!

BUMP! Jeez. . .how quickly brake q's get lost behind all the "will 20's fit on my car?!" crap. Mods! Can we have a seperate forum for just "wheels" and then the other for "tires, brakes, and suspension"? That would be really cool! Thx!

I was thinking of getting this kit from Stoptech, looks to be pretty good deal for $650

This kit includes:
Front and Rear Hawk HPS brake pads,
Front and Rear StopTech SS brake lines,
Three 500mL bottles of Motul RBF600 DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid,
Front and Rear stock sized StopTech cross-drilled brake rotors

Now if I can only find a place in Canada that carries this so that I don't have to pay duties and brokerage fees.

I hear you on the duties and brokerage costs
Also the above is available in slotted instead of drilled.

I have heard that drilled leads to stress fractures & more air noise than the slotted.
Can anyone confirm????

Cross-driled rotors do tend to be more susceptible to cracking. If you go with them, make sure the holes are radiused. And yes, they do make a small amount more niose, but you'll hardly notice. I could barely hear them when I had some on my 240sx. I had to have the radio off and the window open and it was still hard to hear.

I think the rotors are made by DBA = Disk Brakes Austrailia.

I've read good things about the Hawk pads and the Stoptech rotors seem to be a good replacement for the price.

Thanks for the find bigwilly.

I think im done "looking" into what to get and am just going to go for this set too.

I agree with big poppa. LOL For $650 to get new rotors (stoptechs slotted) Hawk HPS, stoptech braided lines and motul DOT4 fluid is a darn good deal.

Cost individually:
Hawk HPS (F&R from "the rack") $115 (+ shipping, assuming $20)
Stoptech front SS lines: $96 (+ shipping and CA tax)
Stoptech rear SS lines: $77 (with above)
Motul DOT4 fluid: $15 per (x3 in the kit, but also shippped/taxed with above)

~$350 to $400 bones, which leaves 250 for slotted rotors? Wait. . .isn't that a bit overkill? Hmmm. . .I can't find any direct replacement rotors. . .I'll look some more.

Did you find anything more out about the rotors only pricing? I found a few slotted Stoptech rotors priced from around $230 to $300. They were not for the G though. Haven't found any pricing for the rotors only for a G.

The only thing I found was for 350Z (non-brembo editions) which I think work with our cars? (Some guru will correct me if I'm wrong.) But they were still about the same price as you found ($250-300). Anyways, I'll keep digging!

Looks like that $650 dollar deal is gone. The link in this post takes you to a $1699 dollar kit now.

Looked on the site and they dont have it listed anymore....DAMN!
