Brakes popping

Hey guys so, I overhauled the rotors and pads last year in October, a few days after the front brakes started to popping like they grabbed and stuck on a certain part of the rotor as it turned, really weird... Anyway I could never actually diagnose what was happening and then it went away permanently... So last week I bought new rotors that were zinc plated and installed them and again 2 days go by no issues and then the front brakes start popping under load.... Has anyone ever had this issue? I also noticed a few things after doing some research, there were no shims at all on the pads when I first replaced them so I never even knew the car came with shims, so hence there are no shims now. Also, I am slight confused on the appropriate orientation and purpose of that small metal strip that is featured on one side of the pad, what exactly is this for and how is it suppose to be installed into the calipers, *proper orientation*.

Thanks guys, i inspected my work and it looks proper and even used proper torque spec on the bolts when reinstalling, any help would be greatly appreciated

I will attached pictures later today, I'll take some to show my setup

Yea the pins came in and out easily and I cleaned them off completely and regressed them all as I out them back in, however don't forget on the front calipers they are actually bolts and do not have a slider function, that's only on the tears and the tears do t have an issue at all. I am so lost guys other than missing shims everything seems right, I just don't really know what the metal tabs are for on the sides of the pads.

Also this problem occurred in the same succession when I did my brakes last year and it just went away, no explanation at all, it may go away again but who knows and id like to know what the heck is going on to make it do that

Maybe you have something caught in the wheel well totally unrelated to that.

Follow your brake line... Just saying, mine was hanging off after a dealer service I had done.

PO have not rebuilt the seals so that could be a major possibility
