Brembo maintenance cost

Found a set of brembo calipers for a good price locally. They will likely need to be rebuilt and painted. Is there a big cost difference in maintaining brembo brakes vs 06 brakes?

After one rebuild it's exactly the same. Maybe a tiny bit more brake fluid.

AFAIK the only real cost is rotors, as they use a different type than the regular calipers. I've got the regular ones and brakes aren't that pricey, but I've heard a full rotor/pad swap for Brembo's can get pretty up there in price. Fluid difference should be negligible.

If you just do mountains/canyons, it may not be worth it; I've flogged my car like a dog in the Blue Ridge Parkway for an hour and never experienced any noticeable brake fade (they actually seemed to bite harder and harder the hotter they got). If you track and are REALLY flogging it, Brembos may be worth it.

Plus, they look cool AF.

It would be strictly for looks to be honest. Was looking at some 5 or 6 spoke wheels and wouldn't get them unless I had some brembos or BBK. I have no problem with the way the 06 brakes perform, but they wouldn't look good behind new wheels

Rotors cost about $20 more per corner, rest of the cost is basically the same as the '06.

If I can get her to bite for 400, that's basically robbery, right?

Not sure if they work. They look pretty beat up so I'd do a rebuild if I get them

Refinishing is to be expected 15 years down the line. Nice find, shouldn't be too expensive to powder coat (or paint if you are cheap).
