I have a 2008 G35 DD with a bad rack. My replacement rack came without the evo component. Is anyone familiar with said component and if I could transfer to new rack? I really would like to avoid any additional down time ordering a new rack.

 

You ordered the rack for a sport package equipped sedan, I don't think the two are intercompatible but the sport definitely came with the EVO option whereas the base and journey did not. The sport model had one of those newer style planetary gear steering columns that changes the ratio depending on speed and it used the EVO to compensate.

I think it packaged the active steering together with rear active steering as well.

The 2008 coupe (G37 for coupes in 2008) also came with those I think and it was used on all packages.
