I have had a pretty major power steering leak on my 2006 Infiniti G35 Couple with 70,300 miles on the car, and order a refurbished Reman Rack and Pinion found here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Reman-Power...Z/333069148995

My car is at the shop now and the technician just called me back saying that rack and pinion is incompatible with my 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe & has text me the pictures of my OEM Rack & Pinion [TOP PICTURE] vs. Replacement Rack and Pinion [BOTTOM PICTURE] and saying they can get me one for $600.

Should this replacement work for my 2006 Infiniti 35 Coupe or are these guys just trying to make me buy through them? I've looked online at quite a few replacements and all seem to have the lines as the refurbished replacement shown in the bottom of the picture.

[Edit] I was just informed that the OEM is with active steering & the refurbished part doesn't not have active steering.

Does anyone know if this can still be installed or should I ONLY install a rack and pinion with active steering?

Afaik there isn't an electrical connection on the front. So I don't see the issue?
