Question about camber arms and coilovers
Question about camber arms and coilovers
I am a little confused. I have spc camber arms and oem style coilovers. Alignment shop told me i could only get to -3 camber in the rear due the fact that i have oem bucket style coilovers, and true rear coilovers are the only way to get the least amount of camber as possible. I just want to know if this is true? Thought i could at least get back to spec in rear no matter what type of coilovers i run or how low i am as long as i have camber arms.
SPC is supposed to give you up to +-4 degrees camber but that hasn't been my experience.
On my last alignment, they had trouble getting camber down and my drop was only about 3/4 in the rear. After some struggle they got it down to 1 degree but they said the arms were maxed at that point.

How low are you? I think the camber goes negative by about -0.75 degrees for every inch of drop.
The problem with using the OEM spring buckets is the only adjustment they have is the eccentric bolts, do you have the SPL toe bolts installed? Those give you an additional +/- 1 degree over the OEM bolts but if you're sitting at lower than -1.5 inches you're going to run into problems running out of adjustment.

With the coilovers at its highest (yes, highest) adjustable point, my camber was at -5 unadjusted if that answers how low my car is right now and I do have toe bolts installed. And okay that makes sense, i will install lowering springs instead then as that will raise my car higher than where its at now, give me more camber adjustability and less camber look i am looking for. Thanks

Ive always heard great things about spc. But, Im just gonna re-install lowering springs instead and get camber back down to around 1 degree where I want it
