LED high mount brake light too dim, fixed

Like to share my lesson with those who have the light being too dim.

it’s my 07 G35, found the light too dim, I thought that’s the way it is until at one point it completely off.
When to s junkyard pulled one out, installed, much brighter all six bulbs were on, great. Drove around town for half an hour, one bulb dead, then came back alive o on its own, then became real dim, like the one to begin with. Figured it must be the wire plug not having a good contact. Scrapped the contract surface of both male and female plugs, connected back, voila! Bright like the sun!

I guess the problem wasn’t the light itself but the connection. I could have saved the original light.

hope my story helps.

The LEDmarker unit is back available on Amazon. Looks like maybe somebody bought out the stock when LEDmarker went dark? Price is up at $50 =$5 shipping, but much better then OEM replacements. Very happy with mine; plug and play if you don't want to mess around with fixing the poor OEM design unit, or some of the baling wire and bubble gum solutions. Which of course with your electrical background, you are probably very happy to fuss with. But maybe this will help others that don't want to fool with it.

Had to replace mine, a few years ago, Texas added high mounted brake lights to part of the yearly safety inspection. It's a total pain to replace following what you're "supposed" to do. Got to remove the rear seat to get access to one of the nuts because for some idiotic reason, there is a metal plate directly under one.

So I just removed the one nut, the moved the whole assembly back and forth until the corner the other nut attached to broke free. Then cut the new one to match the part that broke, put it in, tightened up the one nut and done. That was 4 years ago. Still works fine, isn't moving around either.
