Thumbs down Brakes are gone - Need help asap

Hey everyone, My brakes are basically gone anymore. they've been screeching sqeeling crunching etc for the past couple days. I hate driving on it...it looks like on my pads, i have little less than 1/4" left....

I have an appointment at the EARLIEST that infiniti can c me, which is NEXT WEDNESDAY....I dont think i can wait that long since this is a daily driver.

I'm at 30,000 miles rite now (free brakes up until 36,000) on my 04 5at. So i was hoping to just wait till then but it's not looking good. I dont wanna do more damage just cuz i'm waiting ya know?

Do you know if i can just have someone else put them on and bill back infiniti?

Yes, you can do that. Just discuss it with the service manager beforehand.

Yeah i might have a little less, but gosh it sounds HORRIBLE, not even when i'm braking - just plain driving. Sometimes its not as bad but other times (especially when turning the steering wheel to the right and making right hand turns it sounds UGLY

Guess I'll give infiniti a call tomorrow hopefully i can figure somethin out...

Well the good thing is that you've begun hitting the indicator/warning on the pads. You'll only have no more than 300 miles before you start doing any rotor damage. I'd take it to a local infiniti specialist and have them replaced.

The wise thing to do is to change the pads immediately. Don't risk damaging the rotors! Pads are cheap anyways. No need to maximize the warrenty. That wouldn't be too mart IMO.

just take it in earlier and tell them its a safety issue and demand a loaner until they can fix the car.
