brembo nightmare

My guess would be due to material that will allow a greater bite from the pads, which are probably more aggressive as well. Maybe the metal used is a bit softer to allow more bite, or extra heat developed from the extra friction of high performance pads... If you read about pads that are more aggressive, like for the track...not that ours are for the track but, they state they are hard on rotors.

that's bull crap. My first time needing to change the brakes, they turned mine. They said they could only be turned once, but they could do that for you. Go somewhere outside of the dealer. At the time, Performance Nissan in Duarte, CA did mine, so it's not like some schmo at a MIDAS did the work.

I did my brake a few weeks ago..
Brembo dont recommend to turn the rotor because of the big airflow channel in the disc, there is simply not alot of steel on the disc to resurface. Also, i think there may be a surface treatment that you would remove with the resurfacing of the rotor.
the BEST is to resuface the disc on common vehicule, but if they dont have deep groove on the braking surface and the brake pedal dont pulsate/jump (that would mean your disc are warped) I would clean them and put new pads...that's what I have done.
------------------
Bought for the job:
hawk HPS pads (frt and rear)
Lubricant grease
Anti-noise
Brake cleaner bottle
Touch up paint (honda gold inca) for brembo caliper rock chip
-----------
The next 40000km brake service will probably cost me disc brake, I wont go to the dealer to buy them....

^^^how many miles when u first turned your rotors? im at 28K and my dealer don't want to do it, they said it's below specs already, but if nissan or other shops will do it, i might just put the new pads in and stashed my new drilled brembos for later use. ill just wore out these oem rotors first.

I have track days once a month, and drift sessions once a month. thats two events every month on the same pads. my pads just got replaced regarding a tsb...so i got new brembo pads. So I'm on my 3rd set. at 26k

I found the Brembo slotted brakes (front and rear) for $705 shipped from www.importrp.com. I looked around and that was the best place I could find. I ordered the Prject MU B-Force pads from Boosted Concepts for $185. So that's a total of $900.
I could have went with Rotora slotterd rotors for $530...but for only $170 more for all 4 rotors, I went with Brembo. It was worth it to me to have the name and quality.
