Z Car springs on Coupe..anyone know for sure ?

Looking for MINIMAL drop on new Coupe due soon. I am hearing conflicting story regarding use of 350Z springs on our Coupes .....question is, will they for sure drop the Coupes ride height the 1/2 " or so I've heard? My conflict is that the SPRING RATES of '04.5, '05 and ,06 Z Springs are SAME as our Coupes (MT's) ....... So if spring rates the same why would they drop the Coupe....S.horter Spring perhaps?
Anyone know for sure, I'd really appreciate the help. I've located some 350 Zsprings (I think) but no sense buying them if they won't lower my Coupe! Thanks for any assistance.

Spring rate is not the same as ride height.

but my question is (was)... IF spring rates are the same and springs are interchangeable, how would 350Z springs lower my Coupe?
Hoping to hear from someone who has done this!

The Z spring is slightly shorter than the G spring. I'm not sure how much shorter it is.

Also, the weight of the G is greater, which means the spring will compress more on a relative basis. The spring rate number has units, lbs./in. I believe it is actually the spring constant and ppl call it a spring rate.

Higher load will result in a reduced spring height. This may account for the a fraction of the difference.

The Big Question IS:

Who has put STOCK Z-Springs on their G35 Coupe and what effect did it have? How much did it lower your car and did it ride better, worse or the same? What do I ask for when purchasing the correct springs? What year, what model (track, touring, etc etc)? Stock part number would be great...

I'm interested also.

Piero....Damn, we're going to get to the <<bottom>> of this yet!! Heh,heh.
Just wanting to make sure before doing useless swap. Did not you say that a Bud of yours did this? Did you view results? Noticeable?
Note To others: I believe swaps to 04.5, 05 and 06 MT Coupes need Z springs from 04.5 Z's and up to match spring rates.

I believe the spring rates for the G didn't match the 04.5+ Z's until the sport package came out in the G. So...all those with 19" OEM wheels have the higher spring rates and need the compareable 04.5-06 Z springs

Yes you are correct, those G's w/ the OEM 19's get the revised Z springs.

I have a good pic of an 04' G coupe on 03' OE Z Springs. I can't post the pic for some reason.

The drop is noticeable. The guy told me 0.75"F/ 0.3"R

PM your E-mail address to me and I'll send it over.

I have them, and they're fine. I'm also selling an extra set I have here: https://g35driver.com/forums/wheels-tires/67722-complete-350z-suspension-springs-shocks-struts.html

I have an '03 coupe with '03 Z springs. 1/2 in. drop all the way round and alignment was within spec's. Subtle change in look and handling(lower center of gravity).
