Quick alignment question...

so, i just lowered my coupe (rsr + tokico) and will be installing a kinetix front & rear camber kit soon. my question is, when i go to take the car in for an alignment after everything is on and settled, does it matter if i leave the oem 18" wheels on or should i have the alignment performed with my aftermarket 20's that i plan on driving with? i was going to bring it in with the stock rims, because if something happened (like they get scratched when they put the heads on) it wouldn't be as big of a deal...but since the aftermarket ones are so much bigger/wider, wasn't sure if i should have them on to get a more 'accurate' alignment. thanks.

Always get an alignment done with the wheels you drive on most often.

Yeh, I wouldn't take my aftermarket wheels to an alignment shop just
for that reason unless Im having specific issues with rubbing or dial-in
on that one wheel set/tires.

that is my concern too, which is why i made the post originally. i'm not sure if i will have any 'specific' issues once i put the aftermarket wheels back on - i didn't have any before i lowered the car....

plus this is just a daily driven vehicle, one that will probably never see the track so i hope to get the alignment where it will maximize tire life and still retain most of the factory handling characteristics.

Yeah, but if you lower and install an "uncorrected" camber kit, wouldn't you automatically have some issues?

If you get an alignment on 18's after those components have been installed, how much of a difference would it be if you had the alignment done with the aftermarket 19's instead?

huh? you would still get an alignment after you install your
camber kit. (not sure if that was your question).

so just to make sure, getting a proper alignment done with the factory 18's and then putting on aftermarket 20's shouldn't have any issues even though the car is now lowered?

My question is two fold.

You said that you wouldn't take your aftermarket wheels in for an alignment unless you were having issues. But if he has lowered the car and installed the camber kit, then he WILL have issues unless he gets an alignment, correct?

So the second part of the question is, if he gets the alignment done on the 18's, how much of a difference will that make for not having the alignment done on the after-market wheels instead?
