Very nice. Good to see you didn't do the bling thing and get cross-drilled rotors.

Balzz, exactly right. After talking to stoptech, they reccomended slotted or plain rotors for track use. Cross-drilling weakens the rotors structurally and will crack under higher stress seen on a track. My 13" kit was well under $4K, and I though just in case I ever want to run 17" rims for Autocrossing, then the 13" kit would be a better choice. With the 14" kit, you'll need to use 18" rims or larger. Again, looks are nice, but are secondary to track performance for me.

What I don't understand is if the 14" kit has 4 piston rear calipers, why does the 13" kit only have 2 piston rear calipers. Seems like a big negative for those that want the 13" kit. Plus the 14" rears cost less than the 13" rears.

Good question.

The 14" kit is for more show, while the 13" kit is for more performance. The 13" /2-piston set is lighter and has less rotational mass allowing more power to be put to the ground instead of turning rotors. The 14" looks better because it fills up the wheel more.

While the 4 piston caliper is a squeeze-forged cast piece, the 2 piston is machined out of a solid block of aluminum. The amount of labor that goes into the 2 piston is far more than the 4 piston.

So this past Saturday (Dec. 17th), I went to a performance driving clinic at Buttonwillow Raceway. After having one track day on the stock brakes, and one track day with the stoptech setup, let me tell you, it is night and day. A portion is also due to the more agressive pads (Pagid Orange fronts, and Axxis Ultimate rears). The new brake setup bit hard and consistant during every stop, but even after multiple hot laps in a row, there was no fade. Even after I stopped, there wasn't the smell of burning brakes either. The pedal feel was firm and consistant, but the initial bite was what impressed me the most. From the moment I started pressing on the pedal, the brakes were grabbing hard to scrubb off speed. Although after switching my fronts back to the Axxis Ultimate pads, I know that the Pagids were a large contributor to that.

I know this wasn't a cheap upgrade, but if you really want to spend a good amount of time on the track and really push your car to the limits, I think brakes should be on the short list of things to upgrade. More horsepower is nice, but in stock form, the brakes will be the first to fail on the track. Cooling is adequate, and while I don't have an accurate thermometer, my temp gauge never got past its nominal position in the middle. The only time I had the temp climb up was when I borrowed some worn out tires and did some drifting. I do have the hotchkis sways on as well which was also an excellent mod (espeically for bang for the buck). With the hotchkis bars, throttle steer was possible though a bit scary at times.

For those of you that plan to track your car often, a brake upgrade is a totally worthwile investment.

I love the Silver calipers as opposed to the RED ones that EVERYONE has. It's nice to be different and they also do look good with your wheels and the DG. Good Choice.

Nice setup. You dont see the silver calipers very often at all...sweet. I think i'm going to do the red ones on on my DG though.

To our knowledge, yes it fits. Here is where to find the 100% sure answer http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wheel_fitment.shtml
