Eibach Pro-Kit - Professional Installaton?

Anyone have their pro-kit professionally installed?

What'd it cost you?
Where'd you have it done?

maybe some1 just has an idea what this should cost, pls let me know.

I was given a price quote of 650 including springs, labor and alignment. I live in Hawaii though so everything costs more. I haven't made up my mind about getting the work done yet but I have put down half the cost.

I didn't have mine pro installed, but I absolutely wouldn't spend a penny more than $150 for the labor. Don't go to a regular mechanic ($60/hour). Find a reputable tuner shop.

so you DIY. Did you use 2 floor jacks? I have been warned not to use the factory jack for stuff like this. I will need a second floor jack and spring compressors to DIMyself right?

I called about 8 local shops, lowest quote is $350. probably gonna do the install myself

$350 is about in line with what it should cost. I did mine myself. the only problem I encounted was getting the top nut off the front strut. It just wouldn't break loose, it kept turning the shaft.

you need an impact wrench.

$350 is way too much. But I guess it all depends on your location and what's available. I know there are plenty of places in my area that would do it for about $150 or less. My buddy paid $125 for the install of Teins on his STI. I helped(meaning I did about 30% of the work) my dad install mine since he's mechanically inclined. It's about a 3-4 hour job. But you have to have a lot of special tools that most people never buy. And two people make it much easier.

If you are going to tackle this yourself you would want to have two jack stands and a floor jack. Yes you would also need the spring compressors. I did my springs and later my shocks with my dad. It's not really all that difficult, I think it took us about 1 1/2 hours to do the springs. Once you figure out how to do one side the other is a piece of cake.

Hey, another quick question for you gurus. What are the considerations in installing Eibach Pro-Kit front springs and leaving the back stock? Is this bad because one is progressive and one is linear? What about 350z springs in the front and stock in the back? My back sits pretty low as it is, and it will sit even lower when I am done with my enclosure fabrication, so a drop doesen't seem like a good move in the back, but the front fender gap is too big, bigger than the rear. What should I do?

2-2.5hrs labor (DIY) and $125 for alignment is what i paid... but i took it
into the alignment shop several times. if you do linear rate, you might
luck out and just need to do alignment once or twice max.

from your choices...
i would recommend the 350z springs front and stock rear. main reason is
that the springs are the same rate (per gsedan35) and linear rate. just
shorter. i would read again just to make sure your year is the same
as the ones gsedan35 mentioned are the same rate.

I just got a quote for 2 hours front, 2.5 hours rear for $300 labor. Plus $70 for re-alignment. So $370 total. I think I will go for it since I haven't done this type of install myself. With the prokit installed, are sways still as important, or do the springs alone do a pretty good job at reducing roll?
