Replacing Brakes Pads myself!
ok guys i need some insight from someone who knows this stuff. I replaced brakes before and its not difficult but i haven't done it on my G before. I have the brembo setup from the factory. will i need a tool to spin the piston back down or will i just be able to push them back in. just trying to get some insight before i do it 2mrrw. im replacing the stock pads with the axiss ultimates. chime in, let me know what's up!!!!! Thanks
hmm... i guess noone decided to reply.
you will need a tool that'll separate the pad from the pistons and rotor. the tool i use looks like a thick metal sheet along with a screw type rod integrated. i carefully wedge the tool between the pad and rotor and twist the screw. once the pad has pushed the piston into the caliper, the pad will be easy to remove. once the outer pad has been removed, just push the pistons in more with your fingers (with some force) to remove the inner pad.
generally, you don't need to resurface our rotors as the rotors will bed itself along with the new pads. however, if your rotors are terribly warped, it's better to resurface... but best to replace.
good luck.
