My very own D-Spec kit!
My very own D-Spec kit!
It got in while I was on vacation. Will install it this weekend if nothing else comes up.
It is D-Spec with Tokico springs. Why mix and match if Tokico did lot of R&D on that?

too lazy to check if tokico revised their spring rates, but from what i remember reading, those tokico springs were not the ratings i was
expecting them to bring out....meaning, they did not do their homework.
but if they updated from watever that rate was originally, then great.

350Z - DSK512 - 375f/375r - Linear Springs
The spring rate on the G35 seems way low, I asked him again and he said that was the info he had, so maybe the ones for the 350 would be the way to go. Both are suppsed to lower 1.2inches, but if you put the one from the 350 on it would be like 1.7 correct? Anyone care to give their opinions on how well this setup might work? Thanks

It's all just numbers. Quoting and expressing your dissatisfaction about them is same as bench racing. Kit must "fit the purpose" and no matter what numbers are it does. Stiff springs do not necessarily result in better handling.
I do not intend to start discussion whether "stiffer is better" or otherwise in this or any other thread, so don't bother to prove your point.
Thanks for write up Gsedan35.
Anyway,it is installed and i am very happy with ride. I didn't have time to play with settings(it's at 5 front and rear) and was careful about throwing car into corners, but results seem to be very promising. All those slight oscillations are gone and ride reminds me of BMW. Drop is barely noticeable.
Some tips to future DIY.
1) Raise both sides. This will remove preload on sway bar and no effort to remove that bolt.
2)Before even starting to take everything apart try to break loose strut center nut-with quick sharp action. If it starts spinning along with strut rod, you are SOL-I took assembly to friend's garage to take it off.
3)Check out my gallery on how to remove rear shock center nut.
4)Rear spring perch may stay in place even without support from below. Just hammer it down(do not hit aluminum parts with hammer, use wooden block) and keep your head away.
Entire job took 6 hours, I did it alone.

A itty bitty part of me does say that in spite of confirming the specs on the 350Z D-specs springs,......240lbs on the "G" kit springs just doesn't make sense given what we know on the whole.
