Tein Basic (creaking noise)
Hey guys,
Does anyone know the phone number or email for Tein? I want to ask them if the basic makes a lot of noise after installing them for like 6 months. I had the tein basic for less than a year and now the thing is making a lot of noise when I hit any types of bumps. A creaking sound. If anyone out there can shed some lights to my little dilemma that would be really helpful. Thank guys in advance.

its actually pretty common. ive heard most teins have that. i have it on my car as well. especially when theyre cold, once it warms up as the rest of the car does it goes away for me. if you google tein warehouse its in socal, they have a number listed somewhere there. just beware, the music they use when they put you on hold is beyond belief, makes you wanna hang up. not a big deal in my opinion, common problem if that

well...i called back tein because i could not find anywhere to buy copper grease. talked to someone else this time who had a lot more knowledge. he said that it is not copper grease at all and that the other guy had given me completely false info. anyways, he said that there may be a problem with the pillow bolt moving a little bit. i am going to have my friend Randy have a look and keep you informed.

basics squeek because of when the coils at the top and bottom, that are close to each other, compress and hit each other.
the h techs, cs coilovers, flex coilovers, and stock springs have this rubber padding on the springs that are close to each other that could hit each other under compression. when i had mine installed i bought some rubber heat shrink and put it on there and also took the rubber padding like stuff off the stock springs and put it on the basic springs.
ive had mine for a while now and the have never made any squeeking, creeking, or any other type of noise. when they were on my buddies car (previous owner) they made the noise, but he didnt have any of the padding or heat shrink on them, like they do now on my car
