Just picked up an 05 sedan and looking to swap out the worn suspension. I found a set of 2006 Z springs. I'm thinking KYB shocks are the easiest to source at this point. Is it better to get the matching KYB designed for 06 Z? And from what I'm reading, the revised Z springs drop the 05 1"?

It honestly doesn't matter which struts you end up with, G or Z, both will work fine. Short travel isn't what limits most struts it's the long travel, so if you were to put G struts on a Z you might end up with a bit of trouble but not the other way around. Plus it's only 1 inch, that's not a lot of difference.
Yes REVISED 350Z springs will drop the coupe about 1 inch. Make sure to verify the color dot code on the springs so you make sure you're getting what you think you're getting. My revised springs are 2 pink dot fronts and 2 purple 1 red dot rears. They had a couple varieties but those color dots don't lie, that's how you tell which Nissan spring is which.

thanks. Wasn’t sure if this thread was still active. Since the 06 rear z spring rates are 427lb, I’ll get the matching kyb shocks for that year. Will prob eventually get some coupe rear g springs if I find a cheap set in future to level things out.
I think the rears were literally the exact same spring on the 2006 G coupe and 350Z. To achieve more drop in the rear you typically cut down the rubber bumper at the top of the spring perch. Here's a picture of the part I'm talking about and the section you trim off.
