from what i know, it is because there will be a greater body roll during initial turn-in.

Humans think and drive and expect LINEARITY, sudden non linear PROGRESSIVE changes make it harder to anticipate reactions and take corrective action.

Tires are linear in slip angle increases vs load..........the sudden off the cliff change gets you in trouble.

Roll couple stiffness ratios are harder to optimize if progressive rears are used.

Sway bars are linear after the bushing compression.

I have progressive springs in my sedan and love it. If I was more concerned about performance, I would have gone with linear springs. In my case I wanted a comfortable yet sporty cruising ride.

this is true. there's always a give and take for suspension. for my ride,
i went with progressive rate cause mine's mostly my weekend cruiser
and some sprited driving...but no serious road course or auto-x.

i've tuned my D-specs and Stillen swaybars to minimize this initial
roll. it's very comfy ride even with 35 profile S03's.

so it would prefectly alright to get progressive spring combos with d-spec? would u still be able to get better performance than stock sports tuned?

^^ man, i sound like some ESL student on my previous post... hehehe.
happens when im typing and trying to listen to my wife and respond to
her at the same time.... lol

aleok- yes, the D-specs will work fine with your progressive rate springs.
since the d-specs are simultaneous adjustable for bound and rebound,
you can set your dampness to firm up the initial bump... meaning, lessen
the initial roll during turn-in..then minimize the roll with the swaybars
through the turn.

i don't know about getting "better" performance than stock sports
tuned cause ive not done a back to back comparison. but from what i've
read, i think my car is better planted an more exciting to drive while
maintaining a comfy ride. (wat i mean by "more exciting" is, my current
setup you can oversteer on demand and feels like a smaller roadster kind
of car).
