13.6" Wilwood BBK Installed in Piaa Super Rozza

Finally installed the 13.6" Wilwood BBK in my G35x Sedan. The wheel is even with the fender but the tyre come out just a bit. To get the front tyre narrow down a bit, I plan to get a set of new tyre either 225/45 18, total diameter 26.0" or 215/50 18, total diameter 26.46".
Any advice which one should I go with? My wheel currently is 18x8, Tyre is 235/45/ 18, Total diameter 26.3"

Do you have both front and rear or front only replaced?
If just front, tell us what do you feel about it ?
thanks,
Mike

wilwood BBK

Just front BBK. Street driving feels similar with a bit more controlled
kind of firm, firm but not jerky, gives the confidence that it could handle more than what that car could throw at it, but nothing dramatic. It'll probably help more on situations where repeated braking (track) or stump on it at emergency to get a few feet shorter stopping.

I get it for the size/look, the pistons, the un-sprung weight savings (shaves ~9lb per corner without spacer, Willwood kit BBK is the lighest out there, lighter than Brembo/Stoptech & Rotora) and the price (the lowest cost quality BBK around).

Rear Stock Caliper, simply added cross drilled rotor to match up the fromt BBK.

you don't feel much of brake bias effects? does your car plow forward
more than before when you brake?
thanks,
Mike

So you ended up buying new wheels and tires to fit the Wilwoods?
I'm thinking the same. What offset ended up working for the BBK? Did you use a spacer?

Car looks good with the BBK, now all you need is to drop it and it will look great. As far as the tires, i would go with the 45 sidewall 26" diameter. I almost bought AZ car brake kit, but I decided to get the stillen catback gen 1, stillen headers (order on monday), the kinetix plenum (ordered today), injen CAI (ordered through friend), MREV+ (will order monday). I'll get the BBK later after all the performance mods. The car looks good.

Not new wheels, my existing Piaa 50 offset. 19x8 wheels is flush with the fender but the 9" tyre(235/45) pass fender about 10mm. Not too bad, but I can do better.

I used a 25mm adaptor (Differ from spacer as it comes with built in bolts). I have ~5mm clearance now. I am getting a 20mm spacer, I also have 2mm spacer in my garage. So I'll put it together to have it go back in for 3mm.

Then, I may put 225 tyre, which will make it go back in another 5mm. I think that'll be as good as I cold make it.

Then, paint the caliper blue & be done with it.

Congratulations on finally getting these to work. I'm waiting on my new wheels to get in before purchasing a BBK, but these Wilwood's are at the top of my list.

What shade of blue are you painting your calipers? endless blue or possible same color blue to match your car? I think either way it would look pretty good and will definitely make the car standout.

Tell me more about the adaptor! Dave at ArizonaZCar hinted that if I used a 1/2" spacer, I would be good for the 6 piston BBK. I'm worried about the bolt length problem. How is that overcome and is it safe?

Cato, you can use a spacer, but i think a half inch spacer (6mm) is as far as you want to go. You also have to look at rubbing issues if you push the wheel too far out. What's the offset of your current wheels? And yes if you do use a spacer, anything 4mm and higher, you will need to replace the bolts on the face of the mounting area. Infiniti/Nissan vehicles use 12x1.25 bolt studs on the wheels hubs. You will need at least a 12x2.0 to cover the 6mm you are pushing the wheel out and to ensure you can still bolt on your lugnuts with enough thread to hold the wheel properly.

I have the stock 17 inch 6 spoke wheels belonging the the 2003s. I don't know what the offset is on these.
It looks like I could easily go 1/2 inch on both front and back without having any fender issues. How does one replace the bolt studs with longer ones? If I can get away with that, then I'm going BBK all around!

Dude, my bad I was out washing the ride. You may want to check your wheels because if I remember correctly, for the 2K3 cars, the stock 6 spoke wheel came in 16 inch, and if you upgraded to the factory sports tuned suspension, then it came with 5 spoke 17x7 inch all around like the ones in the pic below. I know those 17 inch came in +45 offset. The easiest way for you to tell the offset of those wheels is to look in the back, it is stamped on it, usually around the center or one of the spokes.

Now to replace the bolt studs, easy as pie. They are screwed in, so they unscrew out, you can buy them for less than a $1 a piece so roughly $20 will get you all of them to replace them. I would just have your local brake shop do it since they will need a good ratchet to take them out.

I have the 17" six spokes with 17 inch tires on them...of that I'm sure.
I upgraded to the Sport Tuned Suspension after the purchase, so It doesn't have the 5 spoke wheels. My Perillis are 235/50/R17, so that means they are sitting on 17 inch wheels, doesn't it?
