Cato, I must correct my earlier post. A half in is actually 12.7mm not 6mm like i mentioned before, so my bad on that. 6mm is actually one quarter inch. A 1" spacer will give you 25mm and that's a lot. Not sure how much that overhang was on the picture you took, how far does it extend pass the spoke?, I would go with that plus 2-3mm more to give it enough clearance. When i measured mine, it barely touched the spoke and my wheel is a +42 offset, so i'm figuring a 5mm spacer will be more than enough for me. So far looks like for our vehicles +40 offset would work and anything less than that. Hope this helps.

Cato, I used that same ST-40 caliper stoptech cutout on my 17x8 +43 wheel. It barely touched the spoke. So I would need like a 5mm spacer if I wanted to use the Stoptech ST-40 caliper. So I'm not surprised your 17x7 +45 wheel does not fit. IIRC Dave@ArizonaZcar said that the Wilwood 6 pot Superlite caliper needs 1.5" inches from the rotor hat to the wheel spokes. See blue line in attached pic. I did the measurments on the stoptech cutout and that's the same amount, 1.5". So looks like you need at least a 15 mm spacer and most likely a 20 mm spacer. You will have to get the longer hub bolts as well like G35sedan03 mentioned. If you plan on tracking your car at all I would caution against using spacers that long and would recommend a different set of wheels with the proper measurments that will clear the BBK.

This is what adaptor looks like:
