How to paint over Wilwood caliper

How do I re-paint the Wilwood caliper?

I used Engine Paint to paint my OEM caliper before, it workd great.

I tried to paint on the Wilwood, but the paint won't stick to the Caliper.

It looks like it's powder coated.

Can I sand it down to bare metal & then paint with the blue engine paint?

How are the letters of wilwood on there? Are they EMBOSSED on? Or INDENTED on? Or just painted on?

paint

None of the above. They are raised & parted of the caliper forging/
molding process. After paint, polish it & the letter come back out at polished aluminum.

Powder coating them is kinda hard b/c youll need a rebuild kit since you have to completly dismantle the calipers. Ive been looking into doing since my calipers are red and i need them to be black to go with my new wheels.

Contact wilwood to see if you can get the torque specs and parts for the rebuild. When i asked they wernt that helpful but maybe they will tell you more.

I have found this:
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...0&autoview=sku

But im not sure if thats everything you need or not.

try G2 caliper paint! this stuff works better than anything I'v seen out there, and you paint it on with a paint brush yourself and it's really thick so it's not going to come off like that spray on stuff.. go to www.G2paint.com

I have a set of Ap bbk and I'm going to redo my calipers with this stuff
