2004 G35 Sedan with 38k miles... dealer says it needs rotors already?!

Is there a TSB on this? Isn't this a known issue with the sedan and coupe? Buddies car is JUST out of warranty and now the dealer tells him it's needed.

Any help would be appreciated.

that's why it's worth it to take it in at just under 36k. The rotors are warrantied up till then due to some kind of legal settlement a while back...

Not sure there's much you can do now, unless your friend had it recently inspected (prior to 36k) and they claimed it was fine then...

Sh1tty G35 brakes! I have replaced front rotors every 30K miles! This is why I'm planning on a Big Brake Kit for the front. The lawsuit is finalized, my $2500 from Nissan North America is in the mail.

A lawsuit was brought against Nissan North America a couple of years ago against the 2003-2004 Infiniti G35 brake wear issue. It was a Class Action Lawsuit, with four individuals, including myself, representing the Class. I supplied all my brake receits to the lawyers, who then used them as ammunition against Nissan NA. The Lawsuit was filed in California. The Judge in that case recently threw the Class Action portion out the window, but did side with the individuals, including myself . Part of the settlement was $2500 award to each of the four individuals, $15000 for each scumbag lawyer. Soooo, I'm waiting on the check fron Nissan North America! It has all been finalized, I have signed legal documents, absolving NNA of all future claims. The check is in the mail!

My buddy found the paperwork from his last service at 33k miles. He had them checked at 33,000 and they wrote that the rotors were fine on the paperwork.

He called infiniti and they won't do anything either.

I think it's total B.S. and pisses me off and it's not even my car.
