hi guys,

i have been planning to get a G sometime this year (was thinkin about later this summer). however, i stopped by a local infiniti dealership and saw an IP G35 exactly the way i want it...and wondering if it's a good deal!

it's a 2005 white G35C 6 speed with 12000 miles. it's got everything except Navigation (it has XM radio as well). i have wanted a 2005 IP for a while, but obvoiusly they were pretty much sold out when i started to look for one. but now i actually see some people trading in/selling their 05's. i like the 06, but the price is very high still and i dont like the new sport package (mainly the rear spoiler).

the price is firm on $29990. is that a good deal? i looked on kbb and search on autotrader and whatnot around the local areas (in Northern VA) and a car like this is listed going above $31000 most of the time (private sellers are even more expensive).

car seems to be in excelent condition except i do hear the clicking sound that many of you have talked about. i also felt the shifter to be kinda shaky/rattling. is that normal?

what are some things i should look for when i look to buy an 05 6 speed? any problems or such that i should be aware of? any suggestions is appreciated.

why don't you just spent $3k-4k more for a brand new 06? with no miles.

to my understanding, isnt most 06 G35C 6 speed go for about 37+ (with aero and premium package)?

im from northern VA area.. anyone know of any good deals around here? which dealership?

$30000 for a used 05 G as the one i listed above, i think is "decently" priced since Gs hold thier value pretty well. obvoiusly, if people are getting the 06's for very good deal, then i may wait and jump on one later.

any suggestions is welcome!

That sounds about right. However, I would see about looking for a new '05 and see what you can get. Frankly, I would expect to see a new '05 being offered at really good prices since they are a year old.

 

That is an awesome price, especially for a 6MT! I saw go for it.

The same thing on a new 06 would run you about $38.5k

I looked around for a new 6MT '05 before I bought my '06 a couple months back, and they were very far and few. I saw a couple BS and DG, but no IP which is what a really wanted. Finding a "new" 6MT 05 now is going to be very hard if not impossible. should be able to get a good deal if you stumble across one though.

 

man, someone beat me to it..lol. i called the dealership today and they told me the car was sold :/. guess just no luck for me! i waited cuz i wanted to think through and do some research on financing and whatnot.. but it was sold that same weekend. guess i was right... 05 IP G35coup is very popular..especially it was 6 speed. its very hard to find to begin with.

i thought the deal was pretty good too.. oh well! thanks for all the replies. i was bout to get it sometime this week... sigh.

keep on looking i guess and hopefully somethign good pops up again. or i'll just wait till later in the year to get an 06 when the price comes down with new 07s coming in! we'll c.

I don't know if it's still there, but Infiniti in Tysons Corner had a Black/Black 2004 6MT with aftermarket rims. I think it was $28,991.

I just picked up my Platinum '06 6MT from them this afternoon. Lovin' it so far... beats the hell out of my 2003 Ford Ranger.

If you stop by, ask for Towney (yeah...I know...) He's the guy who got me in my '06.

Also, I know you said you were looking for an '05...but this '04 looked MEAN...

i dont want 03 or 04. only 05 and up!! in fact, i would prefer an 05 over an 06. i do like some of the changes to the 06 (headlight mostly), but somethings such as the tail light, spoiler, etc.. are not to my liking!
which makes 05 my fav. obvoiuly, 03,04 have that brembo, but i hate that old interior...so cheap feeling.

i didnt see the black 04 since i was only thinking about a white G35. i bet black looks great. however, i dotn have the patience, time, and effort to keep it clean and all. its way too much of a challenge..hah!
plus i LOVE white Gs.. they are soo damn sexy.

what kinda deal did u get for ur 06 if u dotn mind me asking? there are a few dealerships around this area so thats a good thing if and when i want to get a new one.. i can get them to compete. however, when it comes to used... then its just what it is! and in my situation, i was one step slow and it was gone. i see quite a few 04s and couple 05s still in the lot, but no one wants them. that 05 IP was just hot!! oh well..

IP...huh...I see it now. I guess I was in "06 Land" where "Brilliant Silver" = "Liquid Platinum"...

I didn't see any white MT's...but I, like you, wasn't really looking for that. But, they jumped through hoops to get me my '06 now that the '07's are on the horizon.

As for the deal, it was a lease, so I can't really compare it to a finance and own. But, these guys threw in a few extras for me. I think I got a fair deal...especially comparing my lease to other people I know. I'm paying the same for my brand new G35 w/ Premium, RAS, Aero and XM as one of my friends is for a base CTS.

oh mine, just when i thought a good deal got away, i just found another one. another 05 IP G35C. i'll try to go take a look at it this weekend and see what kinda deal its out there. currently its sticker for $33000 with 5600 miles. obviously, its lil much for an 05, but like all cars in dealerships, its negotiable. i'll see if i can get a good deal and MAY BE driving a G35 by next week.
im thinkin if i can get this deal to come down to around $30 to $31, then it would def be a good deal! we'll c.

I bought my 06 6spd with prem + navi for $35,300 one week ago which works out to $500 below invoice + 1.9% apr. They seem to be going for less then invoice now.
