ordering your G straight from the factory

hey guys, after researching for a few months i have decided that g35 is the car i want to buy (choices were the usual: TL, g35, and legacy gt).

unfortunatley no dealers in my area have the g35 bone stock (can't afford/dont want options).

so im just thinking of ordering it from the factory. my question is, will this affect pricing, and how long would it take for me to get the car.

anyone else order their car from the factory? any comments on how it went would be appreciated.

-John

If I was in your case I would source a leftover to wheel and deal. Its going to be hard to find a bone stock G35 and the one's with options can be haggled over. Even a low mile, under 10k miles g35 should be an option to consider.

I ordered mine...because I wanted IP 6mt with no premium package...

Didn't affect my pricing...I paid just over invoice. Only problem is the wait. Usually its 90 days...I waited 80.

The question is how patient are you?

well the dealer said 3-4 months. didn't belive him, cause my sister's RSX took 2 weeks to deliver straight from the factory.

but i would have to say i could theoretically wait the whole summer, but i'd love to get it within the next month. since im gonna keep this car for a year or two. im not gonna sacrifice the car i want because i can't wait a few months. but 80 days is a lot to me.

I got mine specially ordered from Japan, too. Color and options I wanted was non-existent in the US. Ordered it 3March and it came in 21 May, 78days total. Picked it up 2days later. They'll tell you 90-120 days, and you'll close your deals before you order it. They'll more than likely ask you for a deposit.

Keep in mind the Acura assembles all rsx in there Ohio plant. Therefore it's possible to deliver the vechicle with in 2 weeks. However when it comes to G35 i am not surprised about the 3-4 months waite. Ask your dealer if they can locate one base model for you from other dealership around the country. Dealer may charge you for transportation fee but, still it's better then waiting 3-4 months.

Ditto here but my car only took about 60 days. DG 6MT with no premium just over invoice.

Noob question:

When you order from the factory, do you deal only with the factory or do you still have to deal with the infiniti dealers? Where can you call or go at to order straight from factory?

How do you go about ordering strait from the factory? 80% chance I will be getting the 2007 g35 sedan sometime in February or March 2007, I would like to order from the factory, without dealing with the dealerdicks.

As far as I know (and I might be wrong) you can only order through the dealer. It would be a logistical nightmare for Infiniti Corporate to handle direct from Factory orders...and then you'd have hundreds of dealers pissed off because they've been effectively eliminated from the picture.

Even with BMW when you do European delivery and pick up the car from the factory in Germany, you still have to go through the dealer.

I got mine in about 5 weeks. It had been ordered by another dealer in California. Evidently any unit ordered, unless ordered for a specific customer, can be picked by another dealer, if they have a customer. No additional shipping if it is picked before being delivered to the original dealer. I wanted a red AT coupe with no sunroof or premium package, but with the aero and sport packages. When I was shopping, this car was "on the boat".
I paid $300 over invoice ($33K), at Pinnacle Infiniti in Scottsdale, AZ. With delivery to New Mexico, which avoided AZ taxes, $600 destination charge, and 3% N.M. excise tax of $1,000, total came to $35,000. License in N.M. cost $48. Full coverage insurance for six months....$320 State Farm.
I am loving this car....!!
