Quote: Very true. Sheer performance is definitely not it's forte. I've been noticing too lately that the top end is not really there. The low end grunt is useful for daily driving but the power seems to die down after about 5.5k or so. I'm coming from an rsx-s which is prolly the opposite with an 8.6k rev limit. The top end on that was way more potent and fun than the g, but it's low end was a hassle for daily driving. Even though the lack of torque, i'm sure it would've given G's a run for their money. *sniff* i miss that car......
Yeah, I came from a Lightning, What a difference in speed.

Quote: Hey, upcomming g35 owner, what i've been told by some test drivers is that the car has a really good low end punch, but the top end isn't there at all, true, false, takes?

Some have said that the accord v6 6speed feels or could faster then the g35 because of the bad top end
false.

Quote: Dont get it because you think its fast. Its not , but the looks make up for that. Its not slow either just wouldn't brag about speed. For the price you can get faster cars, but most of us wanted more than say an sti with no stereo or leather, navi, etc...
not trying to flame or anything but either something is wrong with ur car or you are putting 87 octane gas in it. My car comes a live at 4,500 rpm all the way to 6,800 without losing any grunt. So if that is really the case u should get ur car checked out.

+1. A car I looked at when I was looking for a new car was the TL 6MT. It had good power in a fast and good handling, very responsive car with Brembos (05+) at that, but... it's still a Honda...

LOL, flame? its ok

I noticed your not stock, correct? I'm talking about stock... I was waiting for a delusional g35 driver. When I first got my IS300 it was the first car I had over 200 horse and I thought that was the fastest thing . I love my car, but unless I put FI in it, its not fast, but like I said its not slow either. So maybe to you the g is fast.

Whats your 1/4 times?

My mods are give 5 rwhp max. I have just intake and exhaust as far as engine mods. Do i think the G is fast? it is the fastest car in its class (not counting the new IS. And it is faster than any honda or accura (excluding the NSX).

Are you sure? edmunds.com puts the GTO in comp. with us (I know for price)

The 1/4 times for the 04 Acura TL is the same as our cars. Here is the site

http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

When our cars first came out Yes it was the fastest car in its class, not now. Thats why they will come out with more horse soon.
We have in my opinion the best looking cars in its class (coupe anyway). Now with this new sedan coming out that will be as well, IMO. It may even be the fastest, I don't know what the increase in horse is.

Not in our class but, Have you seen the knew Camry? I think 260 horse!!! Face it other cars have caught up or are close, we are in need for an update. And we will get it.
I bought the car because it has a little of both worlds luxury and sport. And I love it, but I know I'm not going to put other cars down bc its not what I'm driving.

and our cars are still Nissans! What the fuck made Nissans that much better than a Honda. It's all the same. Unless you drive a ///M or and AMG Benz or anything along those lines...you really don't have the right to say..."it's just a Honda" because we, too, drive a Japanese econobox.
