Good low end, no top end? true or false?

Hey, upcomming g35 owner, what i've been told by some test drivers is that the car has a really good low end punch, but the top end isn't there at all, true, false, takes?

Some have said that the accord v6 6speed feels or could faster then the g35 because of the bad top end

Please dont mention Honda and G35 coupe in the same sentence; they are in 2 different leagues. It its offensive to [me] and many other coupe owners. But if you have to compare a Honda to a G35 coupe, atleast let it be an s2000, not an accord .

Not true......excellent top end.
...and according to my brother, his new accord V6 is not as quick as the G-Coupe he had.

Eh. The top end isn't excellent, but it's decent. But then again, I'm coming from two turbo cars... one being Supra with big T-78 single turbo The low end torque is awesome, though. Makes daily driving very easy and you don't have to shift as much.

I agree with you. Its not really a high end rpm range power stroke like a Honda. Consider the torque difference... that should say enough.

Dont get it because you think its fast. Its not , but the looks make up for that. Its not slow either just wouldn't brag about speed. For the price you can get faster cars, but most of us wanted more than say an sti with no stereo or leather, navi, etc...

I thought our G's has a lot of top end speed, from what i hear from people racing the STi at least. Forumers says that they can slowly catch up after after a certain speed. Thats what i thought at least!

And most of us, G owners, certainly bought it because it is sexy as hell! but still retain decent performance! Not everyone likes STi or Evos, those performance monsters!

cheers!

I heard after 80 but if you start from a stand still the sti is gone anyway

Very true. Sheer performance is definitely not it's forte. I've been noticing too lately that the top end is not really there. The low end grunt is useful for daily driving but the power seems to die down after about 5.5k or so. I'm coming from an rsx-s which is prolly the opposite with an 8.6k rev limit. The top end on that was way more potent and fun than the g, but it's low end was a hassle for daily driving. Even though the lack of torque, i'm sure it would've given G's a run for their money. *sniff* i miss that car......

Honda = no torque
G35 = torque

i dont know about everyone elses but my low end is pretty quick and the top end performance isnt far behind it, my car shines above 5500rpm's.
