Looking into a G35 M6 coupe

I test drove a TL and a G35 M6 coupe last week, the TL was nice but the G35 coupe wins hands down in terms of performance and styling. I'm pretty sure I want one its just getting the right price and luckily I'm in no rush to get a new car b/c I already have one paid off. We sat down and crunched some numbers and this is what they came up with

MSRP 37590 (w/premium package)
Sale Price 35908
Residual Value 22178

24mo/12k $516/mo w/$2000 at signing

Does this sound about right? I'm probably going to wait this out a few weeks before making a decision and try to knock them down more in price

Sorry yea I meant the G35 coupe 6 spd manual...my daily driver is a 2002 nissan sentra spec v I'm very pleased with nissan quality but the maxima or 350z doesnt appeal to me so I figure the g35 is still in the nissan family just an upgrade

What are you leasing a coupe or a sedan? At $35908 you should be able to chop that payment down to about $450 or less with tax included. Goodluck.

The coupe, I'm gonna try to get it down under $500 but I doubt they'll go $450 they were trying to sell me a sedan for around that price but I like the coupe better

07 will be arriving soon dealers have to dispatch 06 models. Believe me you can get it it's an 06 so you have better chances of demanding prices or monthly for the car.

are they making an 07 coupe I heard 06 is the last year till the redesign 08 coupe

also does anyone know if I can tint the windows in a leased car? nothing super dark like 35% all around about as dark as an SUV

Just for comparison, I just picked up a G35 Coupe 6MT with Premium and Navigation and here's the deal I got:

MSRP 39,000 (don't remember exact but over 39k for sure)
Sale Price: 35,400 (400 below invoice)

My dael is a little different because I did a 12mo/12k lease, but with Tier 2 credit I got:

$385/mo w/1340 due at signing (including taxes)

Unless your credit is bad, I'm sure you can do alot better than those numbers. I'm in SoCal, so feel free to PM me if you need a referral.

wow thats a great price they quoted me $480/mo for a 12mo/12k lease with 2k at signing. This dealer is playing games with me and I have all the time in the world to hold out. I'm not familiar with the different tiers of credit but my credit score is around 800 so that should qualify for a good rate

I would start by negotiating your price down as low as possible. For the coupe you described, you should pay no more than $34,240, but I'd set your target price at $34,000 even (a few hundred below invoice).

Next go to the following link and look up your residual and money factor. You have excellent credit so you'll definately qualify for the rates on this link:

Calculate your payments like this:

(Selling Price - Residual) / term + (MSRP + Residual) * Money Factor

For you that works out to:

(34,000 - 26,313) / 24 months + (37590 + 26,313) * .00166

That works out to a payment of: $406 a month + tax

As for down payment, you should be putting down $550 for bank fee, $300-$400 in license and title fees, and $406 + tax for your first months payment so around $1200 - $1400 total.

When you go to the dealer, make sure you bring the money factor and residual and make them calculate it in front of you. Make them itemize everything they are charging you for. They'll **** their pants once they see how prepared you are and they won't be able to trick you into paying more. Good luck!!

Don't be to excited to get one always show them that you are willing to walk away from any deal that is not close to what you want. Tell them you have walked away from a deal with $3 difference in your payment. That actually happened to me before when I bought my 03 Acura TLS. The dealer will not give in with $3 difference in my payment so I walked. Next day they called me while I was on my way to another dealer told them sorry I won't waste my time with you guys again like I did the night before. Even when I was already signing the paperworks they were still calling me and telling me to go back cause they will do it at the payment I want. Sometimes you just have to play thier game whoever blinks first looses. I'm not saying that you should be a jacka$$ just play hard to get mess around with those guys. In the end you will get what you want. Remember it's the end of the month they will be throwing cars out the door to meet sales quota best time to buy your ride. Goodluck chief.

One more bit of advice - buy your car on a Monday or Tuesday towards the end of the night. They probably won't have sold a car all day and will just want to make a deal happen at any cost. If you go on a weekend they've sold tons of cars for over value and so they won't "need" your sale as much.

I just picked up a Coupe this past Saturday with the same MSRP as the one you're looking at. Talked them down to $34,608, and payments are $315/month with $2100 paid at signing.
I probably could have done better, but the dealer more than met the numbers I had planned on paying.

Is the money factor and residual the same for the entire country? I thought it would vary by state
